What's Inside Every OctaneAudit Report

Six diagnostic layers, more than fifty individual checks, and every finding written as a ticket your engineers can ship. Here is exactly what gets checked and why it matters.

Section 1

Core Web Vitals Deep Dive

Google ranks on real-user experience. We measure LCP, INP, CLS, TTFB and FCP on every page template using both Lighthouse lab runs and Chrome UX Report field data, then trace each failing metric to the specific resource, script or layout shift responsible.

  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)

Identifies the LCP element per template, its load chain (TTFB, resource delay, load time, render delay) and the fix with the highest impact.

  • Interaction to Next Paint (INP)

Attributes slow interactions to long tasks, third-party scripts and hydration cost, with a defer or split plan.

  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)

Lists every shifting element with its shift score, cause (unsized media, injected banners, late fonts) and the CSS fix.

  • Time to First Byte (TTFB)

Separates DNS, TLS, server processing and CDN cache behaviour so you know whether it is a hosting or an application problem.

  • Field vs. lab gap analysis

Explains why PageSpeed Insights and your users disagree, using 28-day CrUX percentiles.

Availability: All tiers. Field data and per-template INP attribution from Professional.

Section 2

Technical SEO & Crawlability

A page that cannot be crawled, rendered and indexed cannot rank. We audit the full crawl path from robots.txt to rendered HTML, validating directives, canonicals, hreflang clusters and structured data against Google's current documentation.

  • Crawlability

robots.txt rules, crawl traps from faceted navigation, infinite calendars and session parameters, plus redirect chains and loops.

  • Indexation

noindex conflicts, canonical mismatches, pagination handling and sitemap coverage versus crawled URLs.

  • Hreflang

Return-tag validation, language-region code errors and x-default coverage across every language cluster.

  • Structured data

Schema.org validation for Organization, Product, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb and LocalBusiness, with rich-result eligibility.

  • On-page elements

Duplicate, missing or truncated titles and descriptions, heading hierarchy and image alt coverage.

Availability: On-page and crawl checks on all tiers. Schema, indexation and hreflang from Professional.

Section 3

Content Analysis

Thin, duplicated or cannibalizing content dilutes authority across pages that should reinforce each other. We map every indexable URL to its primary topic and flag where the site competes with itself.

  • Keyword cannibalization

Groups of URLs targeting the same query with overlapping titles, headings and internal anchors.

  • Thin content

Indexable pages under a word-count and uniqueness threshold that should be expanded, merged or noindexed.

  • Duplicate detection

Near-duplicate body content from parameters, printer views, staging leaks and syndicated copy.

  • Internal linking

Orphan pages, click-depth outliers and high-authority pages with weak outbound linking.

Availability: Professional and Enterprise.

Section 5

Mobile UX & Usability

Google indexes the mobile version of your site. We test key templates on real device profiles for viewport configuration, tap-target spacing, text legibility, intrusive interstitials and content parity with desktop.

  • Viewport & scaling

Missing or restrictive viewport meta, horizontal overflow and fixed-width elements.

  • Tap targets

Interactive elements smaller than 48px or closer than 8px to neighbours.

  • Text readability

Font sizes under 12px, low contrast ratios and line lengths that fail WCAG AA.

  • Content parity

Content, links or structured data present on desktop but hidden or removed on mobile.

Availability: All tiers.

Section 6

Performance Optimization Roadmap

Findings without a plan do not get shipped. Every issue is scored for effort and impact, grouped into a sequenced roadmap, and written as an engineering ticket with the exact files, headers or settings to change.

  • Image pipeline

Format (AVIF/WebP), responsive sizes, lazy-loading boundaries and CDN transformation settings.

  • JavaScript strategy

Defer, async, code-split and third-party tag governance with estimated byte and INP savings.

  • Caching & CDN

Cache-Control, immutable asset hashing, edge caching rules and HTML TTLs for your stack.

  • Server & hosting

Compression, HTTP/2 or HTTP/3, early hints and origin response time targets.

  • Implementation sequence

A 30-day (Professional) or 90-day (Enterprise) plan ordered by impact per engineering hour.

Availability: 10-item fix list on Essential, 30-item roadmap on Professional, 90-day plan on Enterprise.
